Training of Orange Farm Township Facilitators

The aim of the project was to successfully train and transform workers from the Orange Farm mechanical workshop with informal workshop skills into fully fledged, skilled facilitators, capable of teaching others the skills that they have learned.

• Research

We identified the aspects and the problems which were most important to address the Orange Farm community.

• Planning

The identified topics and aspects were then included into our training schedule. These topics, including the skills needed to work in a Machine-Workshop, then served as the subjects we would teach the Orange Farm facilitators.

• Preparation

Each of us where then assigned one of these subjects of which we wrote our own manual and presentation with which we were going to use to train the facilitators.

• Training

We each gave a lecture about our subjects to the Orange Farm facilitators, using our presentations. We gave them practical training in the workshop, providing them with a small project. Finally we gave them the manuals to take along with them to Orange Farm.

• Test and evaluation

The facilitators' were tested by giving them an individual project, the toolbox, after completion of the workshop gate.

• Marketing

We attended the FIAP exhibition in order to present out unique training project to potential investors.

• Final step

The last step was to evaluate the facilitators on what they have learned by the group members. And this also evaluate their efforrs on the Toolbox
