Transport for emergency situations

Sebokeng - Trinity Ambu Academic Services, a non-profit organisation (NPO) was formed by emergency attendants of the Vaal Region

TAAS was formed in line with a vision to assist charities (indigents) in terms of emergency sitautions with an emphasis of transportation.  The organisation was formed by professional paraemdics who are unemployed and employed in their sphere of specialisation.  The primary aim of the organisation is to assist people who were not at liberty to help themselves from the disabled, the aging and sufferers of other chronic illnesses.  The organisation is up on its existence to assist the community with emergency transportation.

According to the organisation liaison officer Lefa Hlopho, the initative came about through numerous intensive searches tha displayed what the most basic needs of the disabled community are.  Hlopho further says when people are ageing they become regular clinic attendees.  "We came up with such an initiative , where we can assist the community with basic transportation to attend clinics and doctor's appointments due to their chronic illnesses or health", says Mhlopho.  Organisation driver Matthews Mathatho says this movement is part of giving back to the community.
